Senior Quality Technician

GFR Ingredients is located in Barrhead, Alberta where we process and manufacturer premium, plant based ingredients. We are currently seeking to hire a full-time Senior Quality Technician to join our team. This is an hourly rate role working a fixed daytime shift from 8:00 to 4:00 pm Monday to Friday.

The Senior Quality Technician is a multi-faceted role handling a variety of internal and customer facing issues. Daily work will involve trouble shooting production issues, working on R&D projects, handling Regulatory and Quality inquiries and analyzing production run data.

Main Responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

  • Submit samples to external laboratories and follow-up on any non-conforming results.
  • Analyze, document and report quality parameters during processing and on finished product.
  • Write Production Summary reports.
  • Respond to Customer inquiries regarding Quality and Regulatory documentation.
  • Maintain comprehensive and well-organized files for all Quality & Regulatory data.
  • Operate, maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment.
  • Assist in training production staff on Quality Control issues.
  • Stay informed and aware of new developments in analytical, quality and regulatory issues.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years’ quality and/or regulatory experience in food, natural health products or pharmaceutical manufacturing or 5-8 years’ experience combined with post-secondary education in an associated discipline.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to establish and maintain relationships.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to complete tasks with accuracy, while working within deadlines.
  • Team player with the ability to follow-up and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and computer skills (excel, word and outlook).
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Experience in a food or pharma manufacturing environment will be considered an asset.
